The Texas House and Senate have filed identical PROPERTY TAX REFORM legislation to give YOU, the voters, control over your tax rates. SB 2 and HB 2 require an automatic ratification election if a taxing unit adopts a tax rate that would grow gov’t spending more than 2.5% year-to-year. As we rein in property tax growth we’ll also see a significant increase in the % of state funding for public education, a top priority of the 86th #txlege.
