The Business and Commerce Political Action Committee, the political arm of the Texas Association of Business, has announced its endorsement of Rep. Kelly Hancock in his campaign for State Senate District 9.
“Kelly Hancock understands what it takes to grow jobs and the economy in Texas," said Bill Hammond, President and CEO of the Texas Association of Business. "We are enthusiastically supporting Kelly’s campaign, and look forward to having his leadership and commitment to small businesses in the Senate.”
Rep. Hancock said, “It is an honor to receive the endorsement from small business owners throughout this district and the entire state who are the backbone of our economy. As a small business owner, I understand the importance of low taxes and pro-jobs policies that fuel the economic engine in Texas. I look forward to working with TAB on these issues in the Texas Senate and am thrilled to be endorsed by BAC-PAC.”
Founded in 1922, the Texas Association of Business is a broad-based, bipartisan organization representing more than 3,000 small and large Texas employers and 200 local chambers of commerce.
Senate District 9 includes all of Hancock’s current State House District. In addition, it includes Southlake, the Tarrant County portion of Westlake, Euless, and Keller along with sections of Hurst, Bedford, Arlington, Irving, and Grand Prairie.
A consistent advocate for pro-business policies, Hancock has been named "Champion for Free Enterprise" by the Texas Association of Business. He was first elected to the Texas House in 2006, and is Chairman of the Republican Caucus Policy Committee.
Hancock has received significant support for his campaign for Senate District 9, including endorsements from the Young Conservatives of Texas, Empower Texans, the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and former SD 9 candidate, Representative Rodney Anderson of Grand Prairie.
Prior to his service in the Texas Legislature, Hancock spent 13 years on the Birdville ISD School Board. He owns Advanced Chemical Logistics, his family-founded chemical distribution company. Kelly and his wife, Robin, have been married 25 years and have three children.
