Senate candidate, Rep. Kelly Hancock, is well prepared for the upcoming Senate race, regardless of which local Senate District the courts finally place him. According to finance reports filed Tuesday with the Texas Ethics Commission, Hancock has nearly $650,000 on hand in preparation for the upcoming GOP primary. This total is more than all of his potential opponents combined in both possible districts. Hancock is seeking the GOP nomination in Senate District 9 or 10, depending on which seat the redistricting court case finally places him.

“This redistricting mess has tempted some candidates to relax, but I am assuming that my election could be against one of the most liberal members of the Texas Senate. It is critically important to all conservatives that we continue to work. That is why I have been working hard to raise funds and reach out to voters during the time that the districts have been in limbo,” said Hancock.

He continued, saying, “North Texas deserves strong, conservative leadership in the Texas Senate. The financial support I have received is a sign that Republicans know I can best advance conservative values in the Senate and that I have the best chance to defeat the Democrat in November. Individuals and small business people throughout the region can look at my record to see my commitment to conservative values. Holding fast to these values will ensure our state stays economically strong.”

Hancock has received broad support in this campaign. His endorsements include local elected officials, grassroots leaders, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, and Texans for Lawsuit Reform.

Hancock is a respected leader in the Texas House, known for his conservative values and dedicated service to his constituents. Elected to the Texas House in 2006, he serves as Chairman of the Republican Caucus Policy Committee. Prior to his service in the Texas Legislature, Hancock spent 13 years on the Birdville ISD School Board. A small-business owner, Hancock owns Advanced Chemical Logistics, his family-founded chemical distribution company. Kelly and his wife, Robin, have been married 24 years and have three children.
